This Southern fried cabbage with bacon and onions is tender, flavorful, and budget-friendly—a perfect side for any meal!
Cook bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 12-15 minutes until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
In the same skillet with some bacon grease, cook onions until translucent.
Add garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in cabbage, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Sauté 7-10 minutes until tender.
Return bacon, stir in butter, adjust seasoning, and serve warm. Store leftovers in the fridge for 2-3 days and reheat on the stove.
