Butter Chicken Masala is a creamy, spiced dish with a buttery tomato sauce—perfect with naan, rice, and fresh herbs!
Marinate bite-sized chicken pieces with all ingredients for at least 2 hours or overnight for maximum flavor.
Add all marinade ingredients and mix well. Marinate for at least 2 hours, or for the juiciest, most flavorful chicken, overnight.
Sear chicken in 1 tbsp oil over medium-high heat for 3 minutes per side. Add leftover marinade, then set aside. For extra smokiness, broil for 1 minute (optional).
Cook aromatics: Heat oil and butter, sauté onion until golden, then add spices, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
Make the sauce: Add tomato paste, puree, broth, and honey. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Simmer the chicken: Add chicken and cook over low heat for 5-10 minutes.
