INGREDIENTS

  • 4 large potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Preheat the air fryer: Set it to 360°F and let it heat up for about 5 minutes.
  • Prep the potatoes: Wash, peel, and cut them into even sticks—about ¼ inch thick. Even size = even cooking!
    4 large potatoes
  • Soak the fries: Add the cut potatoes to a large bowl of cold water. Soak for 30 minutes to remove excess starch (this helps them get crisp!).
  • Dry thoroughly: Drain the water and pat the fries completely dry with a towel.
  • Season: Toss the dry fries with olive oil, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl until coated.
2 tablespoons olive oil, ½ teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon salt
  • Air fry: Arrange the fries in a single layer in your air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd—work in batches if needed.
  • Cook: Air fry for 20–25 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes. You want them golden brown and crispy.
  • Cool slightly and serve: Let them rest for a minute or two before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.
