Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ pounds head cabbage cut into pieces about 2 cm / 1 inch thick
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil to finish
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds
  • cup green onion sliced
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, mix cabbage with salt and pepper. Massage for about 1 minute until slightly softened and wilted.

  2. In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over high heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Add cabbage, stir-fry over medium-high heat for 5 to 6 minutes, until softened but still slightly crisp and charred in spots.
  4. Add sesame oil and green onion, stir and remove from heat immediately.

  5. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and serve warm.
