Add beef and base: Add sliced beef, onion, garlic, beef stock, sauce, and brown sugar to the slow cooker and stir gently.
1½ pounds flank steak or stewing beef, 1 medium onion, 2 cloves garlic, ½ cup beef stock, ¼ cup soy-free stir-fry style sauce, 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Cook: Cover and cook on low for 5–6 hours until tender.
Make slurry: Mix cornflour with 2 tablespoons cold water.
1 tablespoon cornstarch
Thicken: Stir slurry into the slow cooker.
Add broccoli: Add broccoli during the last 30 minutes and cook until tender but vibrant.
10-11 ounces broccoli florets
Finish: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
