Ingredients

  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats
  • ½ scoop vanilla protein powder about 12-15 grams
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • pinch of salt
  • 1-2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla powder
  • 1 cup milk of choice
  • ¼ cup cottage cheese
  • cup fresh berries for serving

Method

  1. Add oats, protein powder, chia seeds, and salt to a 16-ounce jar.
½ cup old-fashioned oats, ½ scoop vanilla protein powder, 2 teaspoons chia seeds, pinch of salt
  2. Blend the milk, cottage cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla powder until smooth. I usually use a blender or food processor because I prefer the cottage cheese completely blended in, which gives the oats a creamier texture. That said, you can absolutely just whisk everything together in a bowl if you don't mind a little cottage cheese texture.
1-2 tablespoons maple syrup, ½ teaspoon vanilla powder, ¼ cup cottage cheese, 1 cup milk of choice
  3. Pour over the oats and stir well. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  4. Stir before serving and add more milk if needed.
  5. Top with fresh berries and enjoy. If you like this recipe, please leave a 5 star review.

Notes

  • This recipe makes about 14 ounces, which is why I like using a 16-ounce jar. It leaves room for toppings.
  • Full-fat cottage cheese creates the creamiest texture.
  • If your protein powder is already sweetened, start with less maple syrup.
  • The oats will continue thickening overnight.
  • Fresh berries are best added right before serving.
  • Nutrition is caculated together with the berries.
  • Feel free to use 1 16 oz mason jar or 2 x 8 oz jars.
  • Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
