How To Make Easy Strawberry Mousse

Learn how to make a strawberry mousse in three easy steps. Let's go!

STEP 1 - Strawberry puree

Place strawberries in a blender (or use an immersion blender), add lemon juice, vanilla, and sugar. Blend until smooth and set aside.

STEP 2 - Whipped Cream

In a large deep bowl, whip heavy cream until soft peaks form.

(Reserve about 4 tablespoons to top up the strawberry mousse for serving).

Now, gently, fold (using a spatula) the strawberry mixture into the whipped cream mix until just combined (very lightly not to lose the texture of the whipped cream).

STEP 3 - Transfer to individual cups

Spoon the strawberry mousse into serving glasses and refrigerate for at least 2-4 hours or keep checking until you see the desired firmer texture (Ideally overnight).

STEP 4 - Serve

Prior to serving, decorate with plain whipped cream that you reserved earlier using a spoon or piping bag and decorate with diced strawberries and mint leaves and any other favorite toppings you love (I love to add coconut flakes or shredded white chocolate). Enjoy!

Serving

What do you serve the strawberry mousse in? For serving the mousse, you can use small juice/water glasses, bowls, martini glasses, and champagne flutes.

Or for smaller portions for a party or large crowd try longer shot glasses which look very pretty!

Tips and variations

  • This recipe can also be made with only three ingredients: strawberries, whipped cream, and sugar.
  • Make it KETO - whipped cream is keto but use a sugar-free sweetener instead of granulated sugar such as stevia erythritol blend or similar (can be found in most of the stores).
  • Instead of strawberries - you can use blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, or simply use a berry mix. Frozen berries are fine.
  • Whipped cream - should be straight out of the fridge and preferably whipped in a cold bowl.
  • Use this mousse in strawberry mousse cake
