Tips

  • Take care to clean your juicer right after each use. The quicker you clean it, the less time and effort it will take.
  • Reserve some of the pulp and reincorporate it into the juice = extra fiber.
  • Homemade juices begin to lose nutrients when exposed to light, air, heat, or time. Consume this beet juice as soon as possible.
  • When using organic produce: No need to peel or cook your beets before juicing—just give them a thorough scrub and wash.
  • Got more beets? Make this roasted beet goat cheese salad next.

Why mix beet with other veggies and fruit?

Beetroot juice can be strong on its own. Mixing it with other fruits or veggies might help lessen any side effects.

FAQ

Do I need to peel beetroot before juicing?

Yes! This ensures the best taste. Since you wouldn't eat their skin, it's preferable not to include it in the juice either.

What are the benefits of beet juice?

Vegetable juices are rich in antioxidants and vitamins, especially when freshly made. Juicing removes the fiber, making the nutrients easier to absorb.

Is it OK to juice raw beets?

No cooking is necessary before juicing. In fact, the juice will have a better flavor if beets are juiced raw.

Can I use the stems and greens?

It's best to discard the peels, they are quite bitter!

I've read quite a few recipes on beetroot juice but this is the first I've seen that suggests blending it with oranges and carrots. Sounds interesting. Might give it a go for my next blog post.
